History & Qualifications
When Nature Calls Pest Control, Inc. is a small business that was started by Gerrod Walker in 2004 when he decided that he wanted to own and operate his own business. Gerrod had prepared unknowingly but thoroughly for this venture by means of his bachelor’s degree and post graduate education in law enforcement and sociology at Western Illinois University, his time in the US Navy Reserves and his work experience in various fields including working as a private investigator, case manager and counselor for social service agencies. After studying through Purdue University and obtaining his licensure through the Illinois Department of Public Health, Gerrod had the opportunity to work for the Department of Defense for over two years as a Pest Management Supervisor on multiple U.S. Army bases in Kuwait. He returned to Illinois in 2006 and starting in 2007, he ran his business part time while he worked full time as an animal control officer for the local county animal services. Within a short time, his business flourished into full time employment since 2007. He is licensed through the Illinois Department of Natural Resources as a Class A Nuisance Wildlife Control Operator.
When Nature Calls Pest Control, Inc. transitioned into a family business in the fall of 2009 when Gerrod married Jessica, a woman whom he met early in 2008 when responding to a raccoon call. Jessica began offering field and office support to Gerrod for his business during the busy summer/fall seasons of 2008-2009. She now continues to assist her husband with the demands of their small but growing business.
When Nature Calls Pest Control, Inc. is licensed and insured to provide services in the areas of wildlife and general pest control. They also have memberships in various supportive organizations and continue to seek the education and information they need to provide high quality service.
